Health Products Stewardship Association
Yukon, | May 9, 2013
Members/Pharmacists;
When the Post-Consumer Pharmaceutical Stewardship Association (PCPSA) was established in 1999, it was done to educate consumers and collect unused or expired pharmaceutical. Since then, the association has grown to accept all medications and since 2013, we also administer a program for sharp devices in Ontario. Simply put, we have outgrown our name.
To that end, as of May 1st 2013, we will formally transitioned our association name from the PCPSA to “Health Products Stewardship Association.” The programs name will continue as “Medications Return Program” and ”Sharps Return Program”.
Even though we are changing our name, we want to stress that our service, support, and long-term commitment towards its partners and safety remain unchanged. We will continue to fulfill our mission and vision as the leading stewardship organization for the safe collection and disposal of health products.
We ask that you update your files, as we will begin to use the new name on all our official documents, operational and communication activities going forward. This name change will affect our account information (new bank account) and point of contact (moved to 330-2255 St. Laurent Blvd., Ottawa, ON, K1G 4K3; all of which have changed except our phone number.
Thank you for amending your records and for your cooperation during this transition. We appreciate your continued support for stewardship programs.
