Returning Medical Sharps

If someone in your household uses medical sharps, such as needles or syringes, it’s important to dispose of them safely.

Never place used medical sharps in the garbage or recycling. Improper disposal can cause needle stick injuries, spread infections, or cause soil contamination, putting family members, pets, workers, communities, and the environment at risk.

Store used medical sharps in an approved container. Free medical sharps containers are available at participating HPSA collection locations.

Once your container is full, simply return it free of charge for safe disposal.
